Question for councillor Paulino.
You will no doubt be aware of the history and sensitivities behind holding any kind of music entertainment in the Consum area. This has largely been resolved over the last 12 months, to the relief of those of us that live in this area. Whatever decision you come to with regard to the location of this years Fiesta, please bear this in mind If you truly represent ALL those that live in this location year round. I, for one, do NOT want the Fiesta to be held in the Consum Car park, but understand I will be in the minority. Thanks for listening.

But I do feel that the consume car park is the only place the fiesta can be held safely and controllable and any other place on the Urb is fraught with problems. I think you may get your wish this year, as the Mayor stated in the PP manifesto, that it may be alternated (not because a few residents complained, but because a few bar owners outside of the consume area wanted a bite of the cherry).
On the groungs of safety and control, I think you could perhaps not moan on this occasion,

Totally agree with consum square being the venue for the Fiesta they have held in on calle londres/the market and near supervalu where I live nearby it is the only place that can handle it safely and there have been no problems over the last 3/4 years when it has been held there , the strip calle londres would be the last place to hold it as I remember about 5 years ago the lighting was terrible and people were falling over the pavements , they do have there mine fiestas during the year but they cant cope with the volume of people who go to consum square, if it moves then I will not be going along with a lot of other people I know
As I have a bar on Consum, I do have an interest in where it is held. But I honestly think it is by far the best place and my feelings are don't fix whats not broke. Jodie is right, its a few days and I don't see why we should all pamper the minority. I for one wont worry if we don't get it this year, you never make the money people think after many long hours and staff to pay and all the hassle, we lose our Sunday lunch trade and have to close on the Monday to recover and clean up. But wherever it goes, I hope people just enjoy it.
We also live in the consum square area, and are happy that the people who had problems with the music seem to have been appeased (although the season hasn't really started yet). We DO want the fiesta to be held on the square it's a safe, family friendly environment enjoyed by all nationalities bringing much needed revenue to the area. It's 3 days of your life to put up with lots of people singing and dancing and celebrating.
