When we fist installed a wood burner we tried all types of wood some of which were useless, others that burned much better. However, in our experience, olive and beech are the best. They cost a little more but burn for longer and give out more heat.
We go to a garden center on the La Marina/Elche road to get ours, but you can order from the Ferriteria (spelt correctly?) in La Marina village. It's the first one on the right as you turn into the village from the r/b.
When we last bought some, you paid a delivery charge if you bought just one huge bag - a tonne, I think - but this was waived if you bought two bags or more.
I'm seem to recall that we paid €60 for the two bags.

I very much appreciate your reply David, but are you actually saying that for 1 ton you paid 30 euros, so as you purchased 2 tons you paid 60 euros and the delivery charge was waived? Last year I paid an extortionate price of 408 euros for 3,400 Kilograms to be delivered. Could you possibly check that you have your price correct? If so, I most certainly will use your supplier. Thank you.

The bags are 500 kilos and costs 60 euros each.

Could you possibly just answer me one more question. Are these the very small logs or are they mostly the quite large tree trunk logs with a few smaller ones thrown in?

Hi Queenbee, I'm sorry but I can't be more accurate about what I paid as it was last year and I'm relying on my memory, which can be suspect at times!! However, the facts about delivery charges being waived with the purchase of two or more bags is correct.
Suggest you visit the Ferriteria in the village and get up to date pricing from them. The younger male speaks "a littleEnglish" ie - he's perfect with the language, and he will help you.
We looked around last year at they were the most competitive prices..
