CABS

I hear a lot on this forum slating drink drivers...however trying to get a cab in La Marina is a real pain. Phoned one...no sorry can't do but he kindly gave me another number which I phoned and this one said yes that's fine can pick you up and drop you. So had a large G&T cos thought good not driving tonight can have a drink. Half hour or so later the phone rings...hello I say...sorry says the voice this is the cab you booked..can't make it after all have an airport pick up and there's a flight delay...oh no that G&T was too big a drink for me to drive myself I will have to cancel the night out. Luckily for me I have a very good friend who doesn't drink so I telephoned and asked for a lift and as luck would have it he wasn't busy...so I can still have my night out on the p as he's giving me a lift...but can't understand for the life of me why La Marina is so short on cabs, no wonder people are tempted to take their cars when they go out...not that I make it right of course...but come on cabbies there's work to be had for you's

There are plenty of illegal taxi's if you ask around......not that I make that right! But the cost of a genuine taxi is silly. I met a family staying on Marina Del Mar 1. From there to Quick save they were charged €7 one way. I took them home for free because i felt sorry for them.
I expect we dont have to may genuine taxi's as they dont get much work in La Marina.......but with those prices Im not surprised.

Yes ask around. When you get one do not lose it. Then find another couple and save them. The problem is a legal one. To be an official Taxi driver if you are not Spanish, is darn near impossible. Hence they all operate in the shadows, all doing the best they can. Enough said.
