Advice needed please

Hi all,

We are busy packing for our move to La Marina and just need to know what kind of cold weather clothes to bring with us. I am aware that the winter can be cold but have I packed enough? I am bringing a winter coat, socks, cardigans, jeans, boots but is it frequently cold in the winter and how long does the cold spell last. Any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks

Myra

Everything you said above Myra bring with you, last year during the day it was still very warm up till November, but cold at night. I would say from December to end of March for cold cold spell. For instance last winter the temperature didn't drop below 7 degrees at night. Also depends what kind of house you have as they can get very very very cold in winter.

I feel a trip to Primark Alicante coming on. Has anyone been there ? If so do they stock similar products to Primark UK?

Hi Myra - Yes I've been there quite a few times. It is very large and is the most popular shop in Elche mall. I've never been to the UK ones, but I would have thought they would stock similar things here

Thanks Carol. It's good to know that if I need any more winter woollies, I can rely on Primark.

Bring all your winter clothes including any blankets and duvets. It does get very cold infact its quite normal for it to be warmer outside the house than it is inside, and the longer you live here the colder you will feel.

Duvets all packed Souxie. Warm socks, fleecy blankets, winter coats and hot water bottles too. Thanks

Electric blankets as well if you have them. The ones here arent too good and expensive. You must be coming over soon - hope everything goes well for your move. x

Thanks Souxie. We don't have electric blankets but I do have the warmth of a loved one to keep me warm at nights. Lol. See you all in a few weeks time xxx

Yes Primark sell the same stuff here as in the UK. And the prices are just as good.

It does get cold at night in winter, but soon warms up again in the days, not hot but no where near as cold as uk. last winter , jan-feb it was average of about 0-6c at night and 6-16c in the day. but on the upside on xmas day it was 21c and down to the beach. At the moment nearly october and still in shorts and t-shirt.

Thanks Andy, I was starting to get a little concerned. After all the whole point of moving over was to enjoy a better climate. In the UK we spend too much time indoors because of the inclement weather. Can't wait to move over and it seems that in November I may be very well be in a bikini at lunch time and wooly socks and fleecy pyjamas at bedtime. Lol x
