Tribute Acts

Was at the la marina sports complex watching Gene Pitney and Roy Orbison tribute. I wonder if the promoters are missing a trick .I am in my fifties there must be lots of people of my age and under who would like to go out for a meal , drink and dance but do not want to see old artists from the 50s,or 60s, .Bring in tribute acts like Rod Stewart, Elton John, Whitney Houston , 70s,and 80s,let have more variety or the urb will lose out . Just a thought .

I saw a Rod Stewart Tribute on the urb once and I am sorry to say, he sounded like Rod Stewart but unfortunately he had no charisma. We were very disappointed. It is a fact of life Mike that you have to have the artists who bring in the people and nobody draws the crowds like "Woody" on a sunday night at the Sports Complex. He will be playing there on 14th May with his group, the Peckers. Tickets are 10 euros each and includes a two-course meal. I am a Dean Martin fan but I never tire of listening to Woody every sunday. Why not give him a try.

I know its in Quesada but I saw Jonny Fox do Ska/Madness and he got most people up dancing. I don't know the days that he does but he seems to perform at Sams bar in quesada on a regular basis. Personally I cant wait for the Sex Pistols and Sham 69 tribute bands...I don't think my knees will stand up to po-going though.

Mike I am sure you would like Woody. He is more your age group than mine. He has not hit the BIG 50 yet. You can see him at The Sports Complex on a sunday night and if you want to eat a one-course meal is only 5 euros and that includes Bread & Allioli.

Be nice to see some decent acts that aren't all 'tributes' as a lot are more like Micky takes than tributes... The originals were a lot better.
And I know Elvis was good, BUT PLEASE i think I've seen enough of him now!
Lets have something bait more modern :)
OR, being very radical, even some Spanish music!!

You should go along to a Caballeros show. There is one at the Sports Complex this Monday coming - 6th May. The Caballeros do tributes through the ages including Freddie Mercury, Marc Bolan, Celine Dion, Kylie Minogue, Cher, Status Quo etc. They also do the 50s and 60s but it is a fast moving show with lots of tributes each time. Something for everyone and really good fun. Tickets are only €6 and you can get them from the Sports Complex. It's a different show every time and gets brilliant comments. Go along and see what you think and then feed back on here.
