info on driving lessons

Could someone please supply me with info regarding driving lessons.
My girlfriends daughter will be over this summer, and she's asked me if I could take her out for some driving lessons.
(1) She is 17, what is the age she's allowed to drive in Spain ?
(2) Am I allowed to teach her, or does she have to be taught by a Registered Driving Instructor ?

Thanks

Big ed, not sure on age but there is English driving school in rojales.

Hiya Big-Ed,...I'm pretty sure that here in spain all driving lessons have to be instructed by a qualified/approved tutor,...I don't think you are allowed to teach anyone yourself.

Hi, r m, I thought that was probably the case, hence my post. I must say i've never seen cars with L plates on unless it's a Driving School car.

Hi Ed, i have just moved from the uk and am a fully qulified driving instructor but as previously commented I am not sure if I could teach her as I am not with a driving school but I would be pleased to help if I could?

Thanks everyone for your comments. Perhaps in my original post I should have said that my girlfriends daughter will only be over for a week in the summer, and she just wanted me to take her out driving 4 or 5 times to get her confidence up.
So back to my original post, am I allowed to take her out and is she old enough at 17 ?

Hi
You have to be 18 to drive a car here and only a driving school can take you out. So i am afraid you cannot take her out.

Thanks Susan, I thought that was the case.
In UK, you can pass your test at 17, does that mean, even though you've got a license, you still can't drive here 'til you're 18 ?

I was told that you can drive but the problem is fiding a company to insure you under 25 years of age. Very very expensive.

yeah Robert, but over here, the car is insured, so can she not drive on my insurance ?

Not if she's under 25, but to be certain check with your insurer, better safe than sorry.

Insurance companies in Spain will not cover for any driver under the age of 25. This is standard so she would not be legally allowed to drive any car here in Spain
