CONSUM Bars & Noise
Been reading back on this forum and another forum about the noise issue. Basically it just boils down to mainly just 2 areas, one being the bars at the Consum Car park.
The Bars on the upper level caused the problem historically. The likes of The RoJo and the Bars along the row to The Final Whistle gave the residents a lot of serious grief, as their terraces overlooked peoples homes so any noise was going to cause a problem. However to be fair to these Bars, I think the current owners do try and control this noise, not always perfect, but I think they do try. But in the main it's the bars on the lower level, that cause most of the problems.
First and foremost we have the HogsHead who is obviously well in with the Council, say no more, this guy does what he wants, and the Chinese whispers/La Marina gossip is the Mayor is frightened to go up against him as this will upset a certain Polish councillor, nuff said.
Next on the list of problems is the opening hours, why O why does this Council allow bars to apply for a licence with a 5am closing time? The Irish Bar Chief O Neils, BarBar, (this was Poppies) stay open basically all night, I should add that when the customers leave these bars “obviously stone cold sober” they often like to brag and demonstrate about their family tree and relationship to Alonso, these intoxicated drivers take great delight in their wheel screeching departure with engines screaming at max revs…. These type of bars have no business being located amongst peoples homes. It is impossible to understand just how much disturbance these bars cause to peoples life, yet if anyone dare complain about these activities then some pillock on this forum labels them moaners.
Spainlover talked about Vandalism as being as problem. YES IT IS, street signs broken, the mirror on Calle Berna/Monaco smashed, letterboxes broken, bottles and glasses thrown over garden walls, dog shit in post boxes, car wiper blades broken, cars keyed. People being sick against garden walls, urinating up against property, I could go on, people living in close proximity to the Consum Bars will be fully aufait will the majority of these activities.
Reading back on here, someone said phone the Police, JOKE, they do nothing, when did they ever fine a bar or close a Bar down, they do as our council tells them, basically NOTHING. Why should we have to phone the Police anyway, they should be actively patrolling the area anyway. I know I am wrong referring to our Police as a JOKE, however, during the summer the Police patrolled the area on Motobikes, don’t think noise level was an issue as they had crash hats on.
Now is the chance TO CLOSE THE LATE night 4am Bars. I see BarBar has Sign on the front of his building advertising 5am. Move these Bars down to The Lidl area.

As for the HogsHead, he MUST be well in with some very good connections.
So how did The Hogs Head get a special Music licence that brags about without an opening licence.
How has he been able to have several street parties if he does not have a licence.....surely our council and the Mayor would put a stop to these activities if he was not fully legal.

Sorry you do not agree, I do not know what you mean by low on facts, ask anyone who lives close to the Bars, Calle Monaco, Calle Del Parque, and the roads in this vicinity and I think I can guarantee that they will agree with what I have said.
Furthermore, I bet several of the Bar owners on the upper level of Consum will agree with what I have said.
The Council need to clean up this area ASAP, shut down the problem bars, and move the all nighters off the urb, because eventually you can guarantee some one who understands the rules will get hold of the National Police or as my Spanish neighbour keeps on, the Autonomic Police, and then this will impact on ALL the Consum Bars, even those who are trying to be good neighbours to the residents

I really do feel for some of the people around the consume area, But quite a few of you seem to hear something from a bar room lawyer and take is as truth. just a few of the things you say like a 5oclock license. Since I have lived here the closing times for bars has been 1.30am and 2.30 for bars with extended opening, normally these times are extended by one hour for summer period. You then go on to mention the Irish bar O'Neills I thought that stopped being an Irish bar a number of years ago (but I could be wrong) you then slag off the Mayor, because you claim Jeff the Councillor scares the Mayor and Jeff is a friend of Hogs head. Having been at a meeting where both Jeff and the Mayor were in attendance, I can honestly tell you the Mayor has absolutely no fear of Jeff.
These are just some of the errors you may of made.
I could go on,but hopefully you understand what I mean
Hopefully I will not be writing on this section, As I feel it is becoming a we hate the hogs head ,and I for one don't, and I cannot understand why all of a sudden so much crap is being spouted. So for now leave me out of it

Do not want to cause an argument but I think you need to get your facts right, BarBar is open until until 5am according to the sign on the front of his Bar.

No problem,I knew when I put the times, that someone had said Bar Bar had a sign up saying about a 5am Closing time. But ever since I have been here the times have stayed as I wrote them, always with the extra hour in summer. I have not seen anything to change that. I just thought that Bar Bar was on a bit of a wind up.
But of course Paulino has put on the ASL his phone number and he is positioned in the police station.

A question was asked, about something I wrote, prior to saying I wouldn't put anything more on that particular debate, so being not 100% sure if I was right, I gave alternative ways for it to be checked.

Alan ref.your comment about BarBars closing times.I came home last night after a long drive and passed this bar ,it was 3.10 am.with people on the terrace shouting and screaming so I would suggest you take a walk down from your nice quiet home and sample what the residents in that area experience most nights.

I will pass on your kind offer, I cannot remember ever saying Bar Bar was not noisy at 3.10.
But I will tell you that a complaint by you to the Police, should of got something done as I remember, the Council saying something about all chairs and tables on the terraces should be safely stored by mid night and customers should be controlled in the area just outside.
So do me a favour, check out the rules first The only mention of bar bar from me was that may be winding you up about a 5 am licence
