Open Networking Weekend • Steve Hall

You are cordially invited to an Open Networking Weekend in Fuengirola, Málaga.

I am delighted to be hosting an English-language networking weekend to which I have invited ca 50 quality networkers from the UK, Scandinavia and the Netherlands. I would like to welcome approximately the same number from Spain.

When? Friday 14th – Sunday 16th October

What? It will be an informal event aimed to get people networking effectively.

Where? Venue confirmed at Hotel Las Piramides.

Friday evening I am suggesting a treasure hunt (on foot) where we will end up at a flamenco show. No charge.

The “formal” part of the weekend will be on Saturday 15th October. There will be three main speakers, a speed networking session and a number of other activities all designed to get people networking more effectively. All the speakers are EXPERTS in their fields. They all walk the walk rather than talking the talk and all the sessions will be highly-interactive with the emphasis on participation and fun.

On the Saturday evening I have arranged a gala dinner with cabaret. (So we can all dust off our tuxedos or cocktail dresses. Well, clean jeans anyway!) Cost for gala dinner …..25ish euros.

What it is not? There are no high-powered adrenaline pumping speakers “telling” you how to network but who couldn’t swap a business card or pass a referral to save their lives. There is no intent to make a cent from the organisation so prices have deliberately been set so as to encourage anybody who wishes to come to be able to.

Accommodation? For out-of-town guests, this has been arranged at the Hotel Hostal Marbella in the centre of Fuengirola which has been booked for our exclusive use. It is a charming family-run, spotlessly-clean establishment in the centre of Fuengirola. It has free wifi, 24 hour reception/bar and is 200 meters from the beach and walking distance from the train/bus stations. The cost for the cava reception and B&B for two days is 60 euros per person (Double room just 45 euros per night!). Additional nights 30/45 euros.

Who should attend? Anybody who is in business or who is thinking of opening a business. Anybody who would like access to 100 quality contacts and who is prepared to give of themselves and learn from others over the course of the weekend.

It has been arranged to help people understand the power of business networking and for me to introduce my friends/contacts from all over Europe to each other. I have the hotel, meeting room and restaurant for gala dinner all set up. Should be a great weekend … quality speakers, guests and location.

Travel? Flights to Málaga from just about every airport/airstrip (!) in the UK and Europe. From Málaga Airport there is a direct local train every 20 minutes for a few cents. (Do not think Heathrow/Gatwick/Stansted Express prices! Forget Oslo airport taxi fares!)

Partners? Partners/family are welcome – there is plenty for them to do. Sand, sea, sun, sangria, spa, golf, tennis, quad bikes, sun-worshipping etc etc. All can be arranged when I have numbers. Please use the contact form below for any additional information.

Equipment? There are no formal requirements, no pre-event study. You should, of course, have ample supplies of your business cards/literature and you may well find a laptop will be useful. More important is that you arrive with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and participate …… and have fun. (As a favourite networker friend of mine always says, “If you are not having fun, you are doing it wrong”)

Attire? Smart casual.

Bonus? All attendees are encouraged to offer a bonus, “groupon”, discount or similar incentive to all fellow-guests. As an example, I am offering a one page advertorial at no charge in www.thisisspain.info which is an eight year old site with a PR5 and over 900 pages.

Please also feel free to promote this event to other quality networkers that you would like to spend the weekend with!

Kind Regards

Steve

PS Horse-riding in the hills above Marbella is now confirmed and also several ladies have booked for chocolate massages. (Don’t ask!)
