El Oassis

My husband and I were talking about various things which have happened in the area ,and we suddenly remembered the demonstrations about the mains sewage installation on El Oassis,we wondered what the outcome was did people have to pay the money or not, I think we must have been away when it was reported in the press. Can anyone enlighten us just to satisfy our curiosity

Hola, I seem to remember reading or hearing that the residents won their case and were told they did not have to contribute and the town hall or whoever was doing the work would have to foot the whole of the bill for the improvements. This resulted in any work that was being carried out being stopped which is a bit of a hollow victory for the residents. This is only from my memory but I am sure someone will correct me if this is not the case.
