Food contributions for the needy

I go to the Anglican Church Service, which is held in the Roman Catholic Church in San Fulgencio. For quite some time now, the parishoners of our church, have taken non perishable food in on Sunday, and left it in the church. This I understand is distributed to the poor people of San Fulgencio on Monday of each week. This distribution my not stretch to the Urb, but I am sure that a similar system could be set up, to provide much needed provisions all the year round.
