Hi......Can anyone tell me, is it legal for these people to call at you house or business asking for charitable donations or trying to get you to buy lottery type tickets and scratch cards for charity?
When we first moved here we were warned not to give to these people as it was a scam. But in the last couple of weeks we have had several people come into the bar and one call at home asking for money, so now im wondering if perhaps they are genuine.
Most of them have some stamped paperwork, but i never bother to look at it as i wouldnt really know what to look for. Todays called was collecting for a childrens home in Santa Pola.......I didnt know there was one and he wanted us to but tickets at €5 a pop!!

Hi Niks they are a con, there is not a childrens home in Santa Pola that I know about, they came round last night when we were eating at Ramons, nobody signed the form, or even spoke to them

It is illegal for anyone to knock on your door and ask for money, so anyone who goes around with ID or whatever for any charities, do not give them anything, it is a scam.
