WELL I THINK PEOPLE WILL THINK I AM BECOMING A MOANER BUT I FEEL THE NEED TO MAKE A COMMENT ABOUT THIS,I LOVE THE FIESTA AND DONT MIND THE NOISE EVEN THOUGH IT WENT ON TILL PAST 4AM ON FRIDAY AND I LIVE VERY CLOSE BUT FOR ME THE LOUD BANGS OFF THE FIREWORKS WERE ONE STEP TOO FAR,THEY WERE SET OFF NOT MORE THAN 50 FEET FROM MY FRONT DOOR AND FRIGHTENED THE LIFE OUT OF MY CAT AND AS SEVERAL OF MY NEIGHBOURS HAVE ANIMALS I WOULD IMAGINE THEY HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM,HALF AN HOUR ON I STILL CANT FIND MY CAT.NOT EVEN FOREWARNED VERY CONSIDERATE I'M JUST GLAD HE WASN'T OUTSIDE.

My dog was shaking all night.
Dont expect this council to give any consideration to our concern for animal. One only has to read what councillor Jeff posted on this forum a year ago to realise that he lied about his intentions for animal welfare and protection.

Hi Sandra when I eventually found my cat hiding under the bed in the back room I coaxed him out and he was walking in a kind of squat position and was obviously terrified

Thank goodness you found your cat, they do hide for a while until all goes quiet. I like fiestas but I must admit I hate fireworks, apart from them being a complete waste of money in this recession, it is very cruel to animals, but unfortunately, they don't care about them!

Dont understand the comment,get a life,either you are not an animal lover or is it just ignorance,if you saw how frightened my cat was I don't think you would be making such remarks may be its you who should get a life.

I have 4 cats & two dogs, the fire works did not upset my babies, you should expect fire works at fiesta. nearly all fiestas have fire works. a word of warming on 13.08.02 as it´s the night of fire in elche, the fire works go off for 1 hour. therefore get a life or if you don´t like it go somewhere else i.e. in the middle of a field

Trevor, Fiestas are what Spain do and have for many years, fireworks are part of those celebrations, it is unfortunate that the fireworks were so close to your home, perhaps next time you can stay in and cradle your pets, but these events are people enjoying life, they cant be stopped because pets are affraid of the noise.
Life is to be embraced, and thats why people enjoy the fiestas, it does not mean they dont like animals! But as your life is so dedicated to your pets, then all you need to do is make sure you stay home to comfort them.

Thank you Patricia, Myself & my husband stayed in with all our 6 animals, plus one of our cats & dogs are frighted of there own shadow, but with us by there side they are OK

I did stay in but did not expect very loud fireworks less than 50 feet away from my front door
