Where have all the pianists gone? What is the reason that none are seen in the bars ever over here? I used to really enjoy a good old sing song on a Friday or Saturday night.
I can remember those kind of nights in the pubs. Used to always be a great atmosphere. In these pubs there was not even necessary to have a microphone we were all most nights in good voice.
I most certainly agree with you. Those were the good old days when family and friends just knew how to enjoy themselves at home without paying extortionate prices in bars/restaurants for entertainment.
I do believe, however, that there is a restaurant in Quesada that has a pianist. It used to be called the piano bar - I seem to think it is called New York now, or something similar.
Has anybody been there? I would be very interested in your comments and also what are the prices like on the menu. Thank you.
i worked there last summer and the food was very nice. they did have the piano still, but i never saw it used. i do believe they had some entertainment in the wintertime planned (after i left). i found the facebooksite if you want to have a look and ask them:

Some of these struggling places that put on Entertainment should take on board the idea of singalong pianist once a week. It would save them a bob or two. The way it used to work in the London bars was pub supplied beer to pianist and a snack, many bar locals would also buy the pianist a drink. Then near the end of the evening the Landlord or a regular would do a whip round from all in the bar. We used to have some great nights like this.
My complaint will be where is the little man who comes round with the cockles, wilks and muscles. He is due in by the middle of the evening. Those were the days.
