Bar
As someone who runs a bar, I think it is sad that one bar (and I wont say who it is) is being affected by rumours that are not true. These people who run the bar and trying their best to make a living, but just a few people with nothing better to do are spreading rumours around that just are not true. Please don't listen to all the rubbish you hear and support local bars with people who work hard. You know who you are and you know where the bar is.....
Does it matter which Bar is struggling,according to the gossip,Quite a few Bars I gather are not having a great time,If they want you to know they will surely tell you.Until then let them get on with what they are trying to achieve.I suppose that when we have done all the gossip on bars,We can start on which Husband has a bit on the side,Which woman has been seen working on the roundabouts,Which kids have been seen Graffitying the walls,Come on people do what most people do live and let live,most of us having things we don't want every tom dick or harry to know about,lets keep it that way
Ok it is Montys, these people have given loads and are a lovely couple, they have done nothing wrong and I urge you to support them please.
So where is this Bar maybe a few might drift in for a pint. MAKE THE FORUM DO A BIT OF GOOD TODAY. It is a bar I have heard of but cant remember where it is?
Jescapes you obviously don't now the true story, all that as happened they have brought it on there selfs. They are a nice couple until the personality changes .
The bar is montys and used to be the old Jacks bar, YEs I do know the truth as they are personal friends. They have both been affected by the rumours and lack of loyalty. Please don't believe everything you hear on the grapevine, mostly its not true. We have had some so funny rumours about us in the bar you wonder who thinks them up. we have been closing (we are not) had affairs with and been married to different people (we havnt) its so funny you just have to laugh. Steve and Sam have don't their best for people many times and I think they deserve some support. Sorry to rant but bars need support (and all businesses) Go and support them a bit I don't want to see the bar in trouble.
So why did all the "regulars" leave ? were they banned or did they ban the bar ? upset / without them you don't have bar !!
The customers must have a reason for not going in. Why not ask them. The staff that did work there are still on the urb so why not ask them what went on.
Sorry to disappoint you Jes, I am one of the people who have boycott this bar. I can confirm it is most of the regulars that are also doing the same & will continue to do so until the couple leave. I was personally involved in the first incident, so it is not heresay. They tried to deceive me & the regulars & people of the urbanization who raised money for Charity by admitting to me that 300euros of it had been spent on bills. Then I found out the rest had been allegedly stolen after being in their care. With one saying it had been paid to the charity the other saying it was in the bank. They were telling people they had been burgled not once, but three times, Not once did they inform the police. The final straw came during the time this was happening they had domestic problems and the staff had kept the bar going, . Once the male returned they tried to divert the attention from the charity saga to the staff by making unfounded allegations & sacking them. The staff have very good reputations & are trusted by everyone. They have been in the bar & with previous owners of the bar for years and are well known by the regulars - THIS IS WHY THE BAR IS BEING BOYCOTTED.
If this is true then they deserve to lose everything, and more so be run out of town the area does not need people like this.The locals speak with there feet and there money round here upset them and you are finished, along with maybe with any of there supporters,BUT if this is untrue and just the La Marina bullshit and bollocks then people should be ashamed of there actions, I have heard story's along the same lines.
As I said in my thread, this is NOT idle gossip this is fact, first hand: As I was responsible for one of the charity monies finally being paid. In turn it was someone else who instigated the other charity money involved being retrieved. I have known the ex staff since I came to La Marina many years ago, and class them as my friends as do many of the ex customers, that is why the boycott is not a one week wonder & is in its 4th week. If & when new owners take over I personally hope the ex staff will have the opportunity to be re-instated & hope the bar will go back to being a community bar & meeting place once again.
Well that sums it up, not a good move from the original poster too come on here saying things are untrue and just rumours was it ! if anything it has high lighted it to all and sundry do you still stand by such people the back lash could affect your bar being the supporter of such people.
Me and my family have been here for over 25 years we moved back 5 months ago and sam,monty and they family have nothing but helps us there is no mony for the charities missing come in the bar and see, its there in black and white.Who gives any body the right to run good peeps off we live in spain not back when jhon wayne was shotting up the place and just in case you never knew it was only in films he done that....I drink here and my children love these so call bad peeps and childne know a good person from a bad person.....If you think they going to run out of money so you can buy bar cheap your wrong i will help these peeps out till i have no doller left.....Grow up act like the English peeps you are not let the few wrongens drag you in to some thing that is nothing to do with you...Enjoy your life dont let the haters turn you in to a hater...

I think we all know who we are but not all of us know which bar is being affected, although we probably all agree that 95% of all rumours around here are nonsense?
