Funny when we went in the place was empty, food was bland and the restaurant was freezing. since heard what they did to the last couple there and it wasn't nice. Wont be going there again.

I have eaten in rojos once, about a year ago, we ordered Mexican chicken, if you could call it that, I don't think that a boiled breast of chicken covered in ratatouille would constitute Mexican food, I complained to tina,,,, response, oh the cook is English.. my name is not jez or london
LOL,...just been reading through the latest comments on this topic and spotted something quite strange,...yesterday I read the derogatory comment made by "londonbloke" to which "Rojo's" apologised and offered a refund (fair play to them), then I noticed that the name under said derogatory comment had changed to "jescapes" how can this happen unless they are one in the same person? I just thought I would copy and re-post the derogatory comment before the strange anomaly gets deleted when said person/s realises they have gone and cocked up and showed them/himself up. Or if this is not the case then they can complain to the admin of this site and sort out this mixed user name issue. But if it is you "jescapes" then please be very careful,...as it would be very easy for "Rojo's" to denunce you for malicious slander!.

So could there be any truth in what the couple that ran Rojos said about the owners ? taking the bar back over or was it just bad feeling, as they had not had the contract renewed makes you think

Yes you are absolutely correct, they only had a contract for a year and as such had 52 weeks’ notice that unless we agreed an extension they would have to hand the keys back. We did not agree an extension so when the year was up we took back control of our bar from them. This is all we want to say on this matter, maybe we can all move on as this malicious slander needs to stop, or we will be forced to take legal advice.

I can only guess that if the official owners of rojo's wanted the bar back they are/were well within their rights to do so once the agreed and signed contract had expired,....if the new contract was only talked about then there is nothing the tenants can do about having to pack up shop and move out,...if only I had a euro for every time I was promised something by somebody that didn't materialise then I would be a very wealthy pensioner by now
Only the two parties know the truth and what's gone on between them so lets just leave it................ I don't believe for one moment that both parties are entirely innocent as they are making out to be.
Ive been reading the comments on here with great interest the past week, I wasn't going to comment but feel after Rojos teams comment I feel the need that people know the truth about what happened. As most people know we worked in the bar for best part of a year and them were approached to take it over, we were pleased to do so. We had to purchase all the stock pay Rent, electricity and water up front. We also had to purchase things like gas bottles etc. We NEVER missed a payment for anything in twelve months. We were told we would have to pay another 300 per month which the restaurant wouldn't stand so we said we couldn't. Then we were asked to sign an extension on the contract with an amendment for each party to give three months notice and we agreed and the paper was signed in the bar. Two weeks later I had a message on Facebook to read our emails which we did when we got to work. We read them and were shocked to see they wanted us out by the following Saturday when we had a SATS chatity event organised. So they agreed to Sunday lunch time. Thanks to several customers and friends who helped we managed it. The whole event was very stressful as we had spent a lot of money improving some things in the Bar. It was also done with no regard for the Four people who worked there and luckily enough they have all come to the new bar with us. We have since been told that thing were in place quite a few weeks before. NOW if you can prove any different TEAM ROJOS Go for it. I hope this clears things up and stops the rumours and we can move on. Happy new year to you all.
Jescapes, stop chatting shizzer! Get on with it, get over it. Be professional in your new venture. Throw what you perceive to be wrong over your shoulder before you are a victim of your own actions!!
To true you live and learn in life, but if I had a three months notice on a signed contract, I would be staying or keeping hold of said place right to the end and making plans for my next venture without anyone knowing what I was up to till it was well under way (would not have time for bleating / slagging people off) best of luck in your new venture and a happy new year.
Jezescapes, from what I have read of your ramblings maybe Team Rojos was right to get shot of you
Its not really a thing I want to get involved with. However given time it will be interesting to see how things pan out. I do hope both places prosper .
