I am sure everyone knows about this place but just in case....we went to Bar Sonia yesterday for tapas and it was delicious!! We sat outside which is nice apart from the passing traffic which at times seems to be travelling very fast and makes the awning shake somewhat. We chose from the menu (which is in English if required) - we had boquerones (little pickled fish), saquitos (parcels of prawn, veg or cheese), chorizo sausage, pork in tomato (so tender!), patatas bravas, salad and bread with alioli and tomato....we like a selection and then we all dip in!! The price was reasonable, the drinks cheap and the staff very friendly. Definitely a place to go again.

I know this Bar well!! It is on the main road through Benijofar on the left just past the Citreon garage (as you drive from Quesada). It has an awning outside. Yummy tapas, nice atmostphere and nice, friendly staff. I would recommend it also.

Thanks for the info on Sonia's, Bev. We pass by often but rarely see anyone sitting outside. When members say 'the price was reasonable, drinks cheap' what do you call 'reasonable & cheap'? From experience I know some would say somewhere is reasonable & my husband & I would look at each other thinking 'HOW MUCH?????' though I'm sure tapas won't break the bank whatever the price. :-) We shall go & thank you again for the recommendation.

We watched the Barcelona/Madrid game here last week. There were 6 of us and we had 1 x pizza, 2 x meals, 2 x bocadillos, 4 x tapas dishes, bread and allioli, and around 2/3 drinks each and the bill was 45€. The bocadillos are excellent value at between 2,50 and 3,00 each - my girls had chicken, bacon and mayo in theirs. For the meals one of us had pork chops and I had chorizo and bacon - both served with chips and eggs!! I think mine was 3,50 and the other was 4,50. We were pleased with the bill and I too would say the prices are reasonable!!
