NEW TAX LAWS

I have been contacted by my solicitor in Torrevieja about the new tax laws which are apparently going to be very strict. They say the tax authorities will liaise with utility companies to establish if properties are using electricity, etc. But apparently if you live in the UK and have to pay tax on the Spanish rental, you can get exemption from paying UK tax as well. Let's hope!

Thanks for the info, I was also looking into this issue. Are you saying that if you are paying the tax in the U.K on your rental income then in fact you should be paying it in Spain? Also do you know when all this is going to happen and if they are just looking for you to pay the tax from now on or they are going to back date it. And fine those that have not paid their tax?
