BEWARE - Certain Posters up here

Hi everyone. My name is Carol - this is my first post on this site. I hope to be moving to La Marina in November. Ian, I understand your concerns re 'disruptive influences' on this forum, and concur with them.
I trust that future posts will contain considerably less vitriol than that expressed by the likes of Shelley. People of her ilk who come across as patronising, pedantic and cowardly will always use the anonymity of sites such as this to vent their anger, picking up as they do on spelling and grammatical errors and using sarcasm and innuendo in a vain attempt to mask their own inadequaces. Psychologists have a field day with such people - I immediately picked up her repressed paranoia, mentioning as she does, 'defending myself in the face of people who decide to have a go at me'. Hardly grammatically correct, and certainly unlike any 'lawyer-speak' that I've encountered in my career!
I doubt very much if she IS a lawyer. No one that I know in the profession would ever behave in such a manner. I strongly suspect that she is in fact a very sad, lonely individual with delusions of grandeur who would be better employed directing her anger and frustration, not at individuals trying their best to earn a living like Pauline, but at corrupt judeo controlled banking systems, MPs fiddling their expenses and the super rich registering their businesses abroad to avoid paying UK tax. The constant denials and justifications of her comments are simply a smoke screen designed to hide the inadequate feelings that she holds about her own self-worth. Very well done Ian. It's about time Admin started to take control just a little more on this site. Great forum by the way but it's just a few people up here that are ruining it for everybody else, with their unnecessary, some time very rude comments.

Alan, I am so sorry if I became a little rude to a certain person! I was just defending myself...I will not be replying to anymore threads and certainly not getting into anymore discussions. I agree with Queenbee its a great forum. I have been helped by some lovely people on here regarding my move over in November.

KAREN Please don't let the odd person stop you from putting your postings up here. Most of us are nice friendly people and we are now keeping a very close eye about what is being said up here. I have my Delete Button to hand, so please do not worry !!

Ian,about time too.But i would appreciate it if you could point out the letter A does not carry on with an LAN,But I am sure I know who you mean.But there again if you think it is me let me know,and I will be pleased to leave the forum

Alan - No it certainly isn't you. The A that Ian is referring to is Female (or should I say the person is using a Female Name) !

I can fully understand your annoyance.I love a good debate and the hotter the better.I just dont think that personal insults are the way to go on a forum.
I am a believer in the saying'lose your temper and you lose the iniative'.
I find that people who lose their temper often say things they they later regret,but the hurt those things caused cannot be wiped clean.
Having said my piece I will now wish you the best of luck with your move,and hope you enjoy yourself when you are over here,Two things you can be sure of,if you need help ,you will get it.if,and if you need friends you will find plenty of them.

Thats all well and good Ian but don´t you think it is not good policy to start running the site like some kind of secret service.

People have a right to protect their ID and I really don´t think the owner of this site would appreciate you quoting his back ground to use in such circumstances.

You have a very good site Ian, and as a former manager of one of the first sites of ASL, I am very pleased with our world ranking of 118,000 which we have achieved today after only 6 months.

I don´t have the back biting on my forum that you do, but then I don´t have as many members, Los Balcones is a very small community and a great challenge for me...

Sorry Kas,cannot agree with you about our site being run like a secret service.This site is run more freely than any site I go on.
I have in the past complained of a person being a troll on this site,and their aim in life is to ruin a site by turning ordinary people off of reading it,Trolls have one aim and you either ignore them at your peril or you limit the damage they can do.
As for ID's,why would one person need more than one ID,if not to unbalance a discussion,Ian is not asking for the identity of a person,only for a name that only the person can be known as.
I think in this instance Ian is perfectly correct,to take the action he has taken,my only regret is that he didnt take it sooner.The only thing I would like to see done is a stop to personal insults that sometimes run rife on this forum
