This week’s match was once again an open one that was fished on the Sweet Water canal in Guardamar. The day started wet, but the sun did put in an appearance later on. Fishing was hampered by an unacceptable amount of rubbish coming down through. The winner on the day was Dave Hill with 8.560 kilos, and in second place was Eddie Badcock with 0.700kilos.
Next weeks match is on the 10th of November at the Embalse de Bellús which is to the north of the town of Alcoy. This is the first match in the Clubs Winter series. At the moment meet on the bank at 8.30 for fishing 9.30 to 2.30- this is a 5 hour match. On a sad note I have to report that one of the Clubs members Colin Brinkley passed away in Torrevieja hospital this week. Our thoughts are with Margaret and the family.
The Clubs next Quiz night is on Tuesday the 8th of November starting at 7.30pm. There is a 1 Euro entrance fee to take part in the Quiz. Teams up to 6 persons are allowed. A raffle is held so that people can then partake of the finger buffet that is provided. The preparation of this takes a very great deal of time and effort, and also a great deal of expense on the part of the people that do it for you. SO PLEASE SUPPORT their efforts.
The next Club meeting is on Sunday the 20th of November 10.00 for the Committee and 11.00 for the General meeting.
The Club is booking 28 matches in the region of Valencia and the permitted number in the Region of Murcia for next year. This is to fulfil our legal requirement to be able to match fish in both areas. Members already Federated just need to pay the fees to Angela ,but new members wishing to become Federated will have to supply the required documentation.
The Clubs home is at the Bar El Alto La Dolores which is just off the new roundabout near the Repsol Garage on the N332 between La Mata and Guardamar.
