with regards to your palm weevle there is no cure once its there.

It is important that you have this treated immeadeately.

This happened to us earlier this year and the effects on our magnificent palm were devastating in just a few weeks.
you could literally stand and watch the palm leaves falling one by one as the weevles did their worst.

Our neighbours were very worried incase it spread to their garden as it is very infectious.

We had to have the palm completley removed by a specialist then they had to remove this from our property and burn all of the disgarded palm at a different location

We also had to have our other palms treated, they showed no signs of infestation and were some 50 metres from the infected palm however we will not know until august 2012 if the treatment has been effective.

It is my understanding the local government class these infestations as an emergency and you are duty bound to have the diseased palm treated by a specialist so as to prevent the spread of infestation.

It wasnt terribly expensive to have this done, our builder put us in touch with a spanish company who did this for us

Costa blanca has been badly affected by palm weevle, elche have suffered really badly.

my advice is dont hang about make it a priority.

Hi, It also happened to us as well, our palm tree seemed to disintegrate before our eyes in a matter of days. We contacted a company who charge 100 euros for the removal and destruction of the infected tree.Once the weevil is there, there is nothing you can do except get rid of the palm I'm afraid, and the sooner the better.

Ive contacted the authorities who will remove our lovely palm Tree . It´s so sad, con´t believe how quickly the wevels have destroyed it.
