Kindle Touch

Thanks everyone for your comments, which is appreciated. I didn't actually purchase the kindle from Amazon. I won it in a raffle. It has been registered with amazon and I do have an account with them. Everything has been done that should have been done. Re:wifi info, register, an account opened, which has been for some time. Everything is fine until I want to buy a book, then no go. What do I have to do from there? Sorry if I sound a bit dummo.
Hopefully yours, Joanna.

I had this problem and ended up ringing Amazon. I was told Amazon UK is not licensed to sell books outside the UK. I had to re-register with Amazon.com (the US site) and buy books from there as they can sell worldwide. So I re-registered with them and it all works fine.

That's very odd......I get all my books from Amazon UK! No problem!
I suggest you email Amazon and ask why you are having this trouble. I had a problem with delivery of a bulky item, and an email sorted it out without hassle. Very efficient and pleasantly.

Sorry - perhaps I should have said that the Amazon guy told me they weren't licensed to sell KINDLE books outside the UK. They can deliver most stuff to Spain - but often amazon.es is cheaper and quicker anyhow.

I have had a Kindle for 2 years now and have never been able to get books from Amazon UK. I get mine from Amazon.com (USA) site. You can buy them through Amazon ES but they and the listings nearly always come through in Spanish obviously. I have never had a problem, and they have all the books and more that Amazon UK have.

I had the same problem and kept being diverted to amazon.es - I called the chat line on amazon and the guy there ran me through it - all I had to do was to use a UK address even though it wasn't my billing address - he then suggested when and if I go to the UK at any time take it with me and use it there so it picks up a different UK IP address - amazon.es don't have all the books you may want to buy. Failing that visit the man in the la marina market who does kindle books for 3 euros... saves a fortune

Good advice about the UK address Sue, come to think of it I have a UK address registered as well as my Spanish address!

Hi Maz - it doesn't need to be your address in the UK. I don't have a UK address at all and so I used a friend who I sometimes post stuff to and she is in my Amazon address book x

Haha...likewise Sue.....it's my cousins address I use for post etc!
