The person who started all this is dot cooper, people have the right to answer that is why she posted it in the first place, but she has never answered so wonder why she even started this. I do believe she thought she would get a lot of good feed back, I also think that people do have the right to voice there opinions dot cooper was so wrong to start this as she has upset a lot of people with her lies and to be honest, she even believes them it's sad but she should be the one who gets a warning from Spanish life no one else thank you

When I originally read the comment in question,It was innocuous,and didn't need a reply,Most people who read the Spanish Life wouldn't of known the Lady in question,the replies it has received,have not made it clear what it is about.Any one of them could of written what it was about,but no one did except A Lady called Rose,who in turn was told,that the rumour she heard was not the rumour people were on about.But all the others (I mainly mean the new comers to making comments)were just villyfying one Lady,I don't know any of the people involved,and I have written on this firum a few times that gossip is not the way forward,But whatever this Lady has said or done to upset people,and make them reply in such a way as some of them have,leaves me speechless.My inbox is mainly filled telling me another person has added to the comments,Someone somewhere has got to have sense and stop this nastiness from carrying on,should also worry Spanish Life,hits may be up for a few days,but those regular contributors,will stop hitting this forum,and go on to the many others in this area

I totally agree with the idle gossip being removed, as I am not one for listening or indulging in gossip myself. Surely a ste like this should be for the enhancement of La Marina, and not somewhere to use to slyly have a pop at someone else, or rub their noses what you have done.
If they have anything to say they should say it to the person it is aimed at,so they can air their views on the matter.

I can say you havnt upset me in the least,in fact you answering my thread means that something I wrote was of interest to you.But I have not asked for anyone to be barred,I asked for the thread to be deleted,lets be fair.i didn't know of a problem with this Lady before she started a thread on here,now days later and countless comments,I can honestly say I still havnt got the foggiest what is going on,but I do know the comments her thread has caused,has caused fury amonst you.But you or any commenters could of put us straight,

Have just had an e-mail reply from the the Spanish Life.They state that nobody has complained about the Idle Gossip thread.

Alan I agree with you wholeheartedly and have deleted my comments (the comments which were asking people to stop commenting on the idle gossip.) I have also contacted ASL using the contact form, logged a complaint and asked for the thread to be deleted as I feel it is pushing more important threads down the wall. I have also advised that if this hateful thread continues I will use an alternative forum for the gaining and giving I info as I feel that the idle gossip thread is detrimental.

Hi again I am not afraid to say it as it is, as this has always been my way.
This Dotti has annoyed a lot of ladies living on La Marina, as she has taken up with a man who was in a serious relationship, thereby, breaking it down and leaving the other woman mortified.
Surely there are enough men around to make setting your cap at one already taken, something that does not happen.
You know women solidarity, all for one and all that.
I know a man cannot be lured away if he does not want to be, but all relationships hit blips, and Dotti came along as Steves relationship; was hitting one, making his vulnerable to a better offer sort of thing.
A lot of us ladies fell foul of a Dotti, so we feel for the victim in all this Stevens ex, who is now alone and very down.
This site is not the place to rub salt in Stevens ex's already raw wounds, so the ladies who commented where trying to show Steves ex she still had support.
Enough said, one day this lady will look back at all this hoo haa and laugh as she will have moved on to a much better life, I am sure.

Ithink it was Rose who first mentioned about it being something like you have gone into,but almost immediately someone else said she was wrong and it something completely different.Another comment was that it was hoped the old lady who wrote the thread,would enjoy the old peoples home.When people do not have the front to explain what they are on about,people not involved directly,have to pick out what is happening and come out with results,my early thinking,that it was an old lady suffering demensia,who was being stroppy (very common with people of an advanced age).why did I think that, because nothing I read suggested anything else.I still cannot agree with the way this was carried out by the coments,if that was done to show the aggrieved woman that people were on her side,I can find much nicer ways to do it,things like talking,taking out or just being with the aggrieved woman,I don't know her but,yes,i feel terribly sorry for anyone in that position,but In her place I think I would prefer tea and sympathy,rather than anger and hatred,but perhaps I view things through rose tinted glasses

Looks like we have two treads now about this dotty person which is defeating the object of what you have tried to do........maybe you shouldn't of opened a new tread and just put your comment on the original thread.

I accept I am not in posession of all the facts and on that basis can only comment on what has been explained on the forum.

That said had I been the betrayed or the victim, however you want to describe it, I would be absolutley mortified for this sort of private and sensitive information to be aired in such a publicly humiliating way.

Privacy and discression would be my way forward no matter how bad I felt about things. Do remember people, if its put out there in the public domain for all to see, then its there for life.

OMG kill me know, thats what i'd feel like had I been the subject of this online and very public debacle !!!!!

PS do remember folks men and women think and see things very differently, bearing in mind "men are from venus women are from mars" and of course men are blooody idiots anyway, we know that, but not withstanding that, my vote goes with privacy, dignity and discression every time, for all concerned !!!!!!!!

Hi Debra.I have been married for forty five years,I admit to having a short temper at times,My Wifes saying after a little tiff is "I love you Darling,but sometimes I don't like you" Always seems to be so.true,my reply is normally in the Anniversary Card when every year I thank her for three wonderful years,Adding the rest I try to forget about.

Yes we are indeed a unique and complex race we humans, including us marrieds but you know what? I wouldnt swap it for the world. Maz Thanks for letting Ad Min at Spanish Life know how you feel ,Perhaps if people don't like the way the forum has been used,and they complained to Spanish Life,we may get something done,be it the idle gossip thread being deleted,no further comments being allowed,or if worst comes to worst they do nothing in which case I dare say we will get more of this type of comment in later months.

Hi Maz,I did ask Spanish Life,how to get rid of the notification into my in box.They told me exactly the same as you have done,sign in untick the notification box,and they notifications,will stop.Hey guess what it didn't work for me either.beginning to think the e-mails they send are automatic,whether they work or not.If you do find a way could you let me know.
Perhaps today being Saturday the comment writers on Idle Gossip,will have a day off.

I agree with you wholeheartedly,The only thing I will do differently,is that I will not stop commenting on this Forum.Mainly because these so called human beings,using vindictive and nasty language would end up beating me.I know that most of the comments made by these people are first time comments,and I think once they have got rid of the hate in there hearts,they will stop commenting here, and hopefully we wont have to put up with this sort of behavior again.Then we can get back to normal.On a final point If I remember correctly,when Ian and Carol ran the admin.on this sight,I think one of the few rules was Personal attacks would not be tolerated,Unfortunately Steve took over admin. and that rule vanished.

2nd casa just had a quick check of your remarks,on idle gossip.I realize that you may not know what the gossip is about. But boy do you enjoy trying to get people to gossip.Apparently it does matter to you if its true,as long as its gossip.

Each to there own as I said before La Marina has always thrived on gossip etc as far as I know for the last 15 years or so maybe more, the forums are now another up to date way of communicating after all why let all the facts ruin a good story for some it takes all sorts on here or there would not be a forum as I have said before.

PS grammar etc is crap but people get the gist of what I am posting unlike some that have to be pc all the time stuff that.

2nd Casa, I think the comment about grammar was highlighting how some of the very negative comments seem to be written in the same style and similar spelling mistakes. Although a lot seem to have been deleted, look at the similarities between the Marg and Billy rantings.
