Needy of San Fulgencio and La Marina

Pauline, in no way is this aimed at you as I know what your doing is for San Fulgencio and the people.
Who ever authorised this stall to go ahead my question is, can PAWS...Finca Lucendum...PETS IN SPAIN all non registered charities but help in keep the animals safe and do the best to take them off the street and re-home the needy animals HAVE A STALL at the "CHARITY Sunday" fiesta as its being called. A message to Jeff and Sam if you are letting non registered charities attend to have a stall to help the people of San Fulgencio then you should be letting all non registered groups attend who help animals/people in San Fulgencio. So can I inform PAWS and Finca Lucendum to turn up on Sunday the 5th Aug. It's always different rules for different things. Cause of last year anyone who was not registered Charity was not allowed a stall, as the police pointed this out when signing for the licenses that were issued to the charities on the day.

Andy why are you getting involved in this, Paws and Finca Lucendum get funds from you and Finca Lucendum has a stall at the sunday market and Paws has a stall outside Sol Bank, There is enough being done for the animals WHAT ABOUT PEOPLE, I love animals but in this day nobody should go hungry. Why do you have to stir up trouble all the time

Pauline. There is no storing up here. Fact is all non registered groups be it, cancer groups people groups, animals groups should be invited, caritas should be invited but there not. Last year anyone who was not registered was not allowed to attend. What's changed this year. There are many groups out there that help people of San Fulgencio not animals but people, so why can they not attend.
Like I said that's not stiring, that's a general and valid point.

The food for the needy come under the auspices of the Social Services. Therefore they are operating this stall with the authority of the Town Hall and it,s Social Services

Caritas is a Spanish registered charity that help the homeless with food parcels and clothes and liase with social services. My personal experience when I visited caritas in San Fulgencio village, I was told they were helping over 200 people of all Diferent back grounds. They have a office next to the church in San Fulgencio. They are in desperate need for food and clothing and my guess is NO ONE on this Urbanisastion, maybe councillors, but no one has took time out of there day I pay a visit to this office to talk to the and see how desperate they are for help.

That's cool Sue. To be honest I don't think you will get a reply regarding what ou have asked.

Sue in answer to your question (which Andy didnt think I would reply to), We raise funds for the Needy and then buy non-perishable goods we take then to the town hall, they then distribute it to the names that they are given by social services. We do not know if this is the same, you need to check with the town hall or social services

it seems that Andi is correct. If CARITAS has not been invited to have a charity stall to raise funds on the fiesta CHARITY Sunday then you are raising funds for a non legal charity which has the full support if the Town Hall!

I am not getting into a slanging match about this, my husband and I have been asked to do this stall in conjunction with Social Services, If anyone has a problem I suggest you go and see Jeff and not try to get the answers here. That is my final note on the subject

what is it with some people on this site a couple of weeks ago this woman put a dog kennel up for sale she was being challenged about why she had not donated it to an animal charity if the comment about the stall was not aimed at her why ask her go & challenge the people concerned i have never known an area have so many animal charity's, this is the first charity i have come accros that cares about people ,or is there something else behind the moans this site should be renamed La marina moaners .Keep up your good work pauline .

I agree with what you say there are far to many animal charities but they all do a good job. I won't sit there an slate Pauline and Peter for doing what there doing but I will say that the town hall have "double standards". As for people charities a lot of the ex-pat people don't have a clue who caritas are. You will be gaurenteed they have a office in each town in Spain. They help the needy they need food they need clothes to help people that are struggling. As for "people charities there are plenty la marina. Butterfly's , Paul Cunningham nurses, Impact Charity. The problem with La Marina is that at one point the animal situation was being glorified and charity shops were popping up every where. By no means will I take away the fact that they are serve there purpose.
My view is, if you help the people who need help with food and clothing and hygiene, you will find most of these people have animals but if you can help them by donating the basic simple living needs they will not abandon there animals as a last resort of saving money to feed there selfs or family. I ain't got no problem with the needy thing because I myself actually went around and collected lots of food for "help the needy" through bay radio. My problem is why can't other stalls be down there to raise awareness or help gain funds they all desperately need. I think most people would agree with that.

then the town hall is the place to take it up i did not imply that any animal charity does not do a good job but how many do you need ?.
