El Horreo

I am just enquiring on this forum to see if anybody can enlighten me as to what is happening with the restaurant/bar El Horreo which is situated on the Oasis urb. This has now been closed for some considerable time, but I do believe it was owned by a Spanish family at one time. An extremely nice Venue inside and a lovely spacious patio area outside where the restaurant had BBQ's, and on some evenings they did provide entertainment. My friend and I had many very nice evenings here. Is there any signs of this re-opening in the future as it seems such a waste with nothing happening there. Thank you so much for reading my posting.

I would also be most interested if anyone has any information about El Horreo and El Castilla up near the Petrol Station. Both used to be good entertainment places.

QueenBee - I have actually heard a rumour that El Horreo was opening up again within the next month or so, but I don't know how true that is. I really do hope it does open as that is a very nice Venue - quite spacious inside and a large patio for the summer !!

El Horreo used to have a quizz and bingo on Wednesday night hosted by Nigel.
It was a brilliant night supported by all nationalities, mainly English but everyone had a good time.
In Winter there weren't enough patrons so quizz nights stopped till the weather was better.
Nigel eventually wasn't able to host the night and though others took over it was never the same.
It was a great shame the bar closed but like many other venues there just weren't enough people to make it pay.
It's very sad. There are simply not enough people here in La Marina to service all our bars and restaurants.
