WAGGONS ROLL

The cries could be heard between 17th and 19th October in Santa Pola when the Torrevieja Stroke Support Group took a respite break in the Hotel Polamar in Santa Pola.

Twelve members and their carers with two helpers enjoyed splendid weather and visits to the castle and museums, aquarium and along the picturesque sea front promanades, fishing port and yacht harbour. All on easy flat surfaces very accessible for the wheel chair and within convenient distant for those who can walk only short distances. Two hardy carers took sea dips on two days!

The hotel was superb for the group´s needs with very helpful staff and in a lovely location.

This is the third year a subsidised break has been arranged by the TSSG and is a popular event in the Group´s calendar. Unfortunately there are always several members each year who cannot attend because of medical appointments and those not well enough at the time. We hope next to arrange a coach outing in February to see the almond blossom scenery and seek a 20 seater coach with shallow steps.
